EVERY SPIRITUAL MAN MUST LEARN TO TALK! | 100 DOD | Day 60
There is one thing that, if you don’t know, you will continue to struggle with in your walk with God. Regardless of all spiritual exercises — whether it be fasting, prayer, devotion, or faithfulness — you will miss out if you don’t learn to talk the Word of God.
Every spiritual man is a talkative, not in the sense of idle chatter with people, but in the sense of using words strategically and spiritually.
Romans 10:9–10
“...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Confession is made unto salvation.
A hell-bound man, in the region of death and in the kingdom of darkness, can — by confessing the Lordship of Jesus — change his spiritual location. With words, such a man is transported into the Kingdom of Light and Life.
Think about it:
The body of sin is destroyed by words.
You’re born into a new spiritual experience by confessing.
You’re baptized into the name of Jesus by words.
You have passed from death to life with words.
That’s how powerful words are! The problem is this: we got into the Kingdom by words, but many of us don’t know how to build ourselves up by those same words.
Soteria — The Full Picture
The Greek word for “salvation” is Soteria. It carries many meanings:
Deliverance — if you were held captive and someone came to free you, that is Soteria.
Safety
Healing
Prosperity
Preservation
Words are powerful! You can confess the Word of God into every area of Soteria. That means you must learn to confess the Word over your healing, your safety, your prosperity, and every provision of God in Christ Jesus.
Examples of Confession
Speak to your body. Don’t wait until you have symptoms before you confess health:
“In the name of Jesus, the life of God flows through me! There’s no sickness in my body. From the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, not one part is deficient in any vitamin, mineral, or strength. I am invigorated by the strength that Christ gives!”
Confess abundance:
“In the will of God, there is no lack. As I obey the lessons of God in my life, all the resources I need to do all that He has asked me to do are available in abundance.”
Confess safety:
“The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. Therefore, I am free from accidents and mishaps. I am safe in my going out and in my coming in.”
Say things like these often… in fact, always.
Speak to the Mountain
Some people know how to talk to God, but not how to talk about God. You can talk to God, but there is also a place for speaking to the mountain.
Mark 11:23
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Don’t just talk to God about your problems; talk to your problems about God! Speak to the mountain. Brag about your God before the mountain.
Philippians 3:3
“For it is we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.”
Boast about your God. Stand before your Goliath and brag about the One who fights for you.
Confession is Meditation
Confession is important because it ensures you walk in the reality of what Christ has done.
Joshua 1:8
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Many people quote this verse, but miss the connection between meditation and confession. The Hebrew word for meditate is Hagah, which also means to speak, mutter, or confess.
Psalm 35:28
“Then my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.”
The word speak here is also Hagah. Meditation is done with the mouth. As you mutter the Word of God, you align yourself with Him.
We have learned in the natural to say the things we see, but in the Spirit you must learn to say the things the Word of God makes you see.
Why is Confession Important?
It builds consciousness.
Romans 10:17 — “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Repetition in your own hearing builds faith. It aligns your life with divine reality.
Joshua 1:8 shows us that meditation makes your way prosperous. Confession conditions your reality to match God’s Word. Say always: “I am strong in the Lord” (Ephesians 6:10). Even Joel 3:10 shows the principle: “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”It enforces victory over the enemy.
Revelation 12:11 — “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
Deliberately incorporate confession into your devotional life. Set aside moments when you confess the Word of God. Say what God has said about you — your future, your career, your marriage, your children.
Every spiritual man must learn to talk.
